For most of the past decade my programming has been centered on IGOR Pro, a wonderful yet relatively unknown programming environment. To make my projects more accessible to others, I've turned back to C++ . It was my first programming language, which I thankfully encountered in Dr. Furnstahl's Computational Physics class. Dr. Furnstahl, who was a member of my PhD. committee, has continued to update his very useful course material and kept it online. Retracing my steps through his course brought me back to an old conclusion. Having a working Linux environment can be a useful thing. And so, at long last, I've found a renewed purpose for my old Raspberry Pi as a C++ compiler and debugger. Until now it's just been a night light for a kitten that I rescued...
Above are a few of my favorite images from the top of Mt Elbert. At 14,440 ft above sea level, Mt Elbert is the highest point in Colorado, the highest point in the Rockies and the second highest point in the lower 48 states. Mt. Elbert was the first in a series of US State's highest points that I ventured to as I drove back from Yellowstone. There is a presentation of these US States' highest Points (here) that was part of a bigger presentation of the full trip (here).
Last, but hardly least, Chandara Ngoc (cited as 'CN)' was kind of enough to make a new banner image for the blog main on this site. I am grateful for the time that she has put in to this, the patience she has shown. Well, until next week.
